- A new playable High Elves subfaction called Avelorn.
- Led by new legendary lord: Alarielle the Radiant.
- Avelorn has a special campaign mechanic revolving around keeping Ulthuan free from Chaos and infighting.
- Avelorn has access to a unique building chain, allowing recruitment of certain Wood Elves tree-spirit units.
- A new playable Dark Elves subfaction called Har Ganeth.
- Led by new legendary lord: Crone Hellebron.
- Har Ganeth has access to a unique rite called Sacrifice to Drakira.
- Har Ganeth has a special campaign mechanic revolving around keeping Hellebron youthful by calling Death Night and Blood Voyages.
- A new campaign mechanic: High Elves and Dark Elves can now fight for control of the Sword of Khaine.
